The Civil Aviation Ministry on Friday canceled the need for a drone pilot license to operate drones in the country. An official said that a remote pilot certificate (RPC) issued by a DGCA-approved drone school through the Single Window Digital Sky Platform is sufficient to operate the drone in India.

The Ministry issued liberalized drone regulations in August 2021.
Following the rules, the Ministry released the Drone Airspace Map and PLI Plan in September 2021, and the UTM Policy Framework in October 2021. In addition, the Drone Certification Scheme and Single Window Digital Sky Platform were launched last month.
Previously, the government had already suggested an Airspace Map, PLI Plan and Single Window Digital Sky Platform, which would help the drone manufacturing industry grow in India.
Digital Sky has been launched to facilitate the registration and registration process for users.
Types of drones or UAs
Since drones come in different sizes and designs, the Ministry of Civil Aviation classified drones by aircraft weight and are as follows:

2.Micro is more than 250 grams and equal to 2kg load.
