Felicity Ace Accident near Rhode Island, Amidst thousands of luxury cars, fire aboard the Porsche Atlantic

  A Volkswagen cargo ship carrying thousands of luxury cars from the Volkswagen Group, including Porsche, Lamborghini and Audi, caught fire on the Azores Islands in the Atlantic Ocean on Wednesday afternoon.  When the crew of 22 were successfully evacuated, the cargo ship was left in the ocean unmanned and unmanned.

  “Our immediate thoughts are comforting that the crew of 22 of the merchant vessel Felicity Ace are safe and healthy,” Vandezande said.

  Some customers have expressed their frustration on social networking sites.  Twitter users have reported that their custom-spec Porsche Baxter Spyder is among the exit merchandise.  The standard models of the vehicle start at about $ 99,650.

  A spokesman for the US branch of Lamborghini declined to comment on the number or types of cars on board, but said they were in touch with the shipping company to get more information on the incident.

  This is not the first time manufacturers have lost goods at sea.  When Grande America caught fire in 2019, more than 2,000 luxury cars, including Audi and Porsche, sank.
