NIO ET7 test drives begin in China, deliveries begin March 28

The company will begin building ET7 consumer cars on March 10 at its plant in Hefei, Anhui Province.

EV manufacturer NIO began offering test drives to customers of its ET7 flagship sedan in China last week.

On March 5, the first ET7 electric sedan was ready for test drives at the NIO House at the NIO-JAC production facility in Hefei, Anhui Province.  Hefei’s customers who booked the car had the privilege of testing the ET7 before anyone else.

NIO stores in other Chinese cities also get a sedan for test drives, with the company inviting those who lock their orders to come to the test drive.

According to NIO, customers were able to experience the design and features of the ET7, including new seat design, Nappa Leather, Karun Renewable Rotten Wood, 256-colour Ambient Lighting and 7.1.4.  Immersive sound system.  The company says that test drivers are affected by the performance and performance of the ET7’s acceleration.

Chinese media will also get a test drive of the ET7 this weekend, with CnEVPost reporting that it was first invited to Ningbo, Zhejiang province, on March 13 to get behind the wheel of an electric sedan.

According to NIO co-founder and president Kin Lihang, the company will allow 300 test drives per day from next week and plans to reach 1,000 test drives per day in the future.  The company prefers test drives to buyers who have already locked their orders

The company will begin producing ET7 electric sedans on March 10, with the first vehicles to be delivered on March 28.

Quinn added that vehicles used for test drives are almost ready for distribution and the software version is running 0.7.0, which will be upgraded to version 1.0.0 at the time of delivery.  In addition to software optimization, manufacturing vehicles also get some other upgrades, including leather upholstery.

NIO ET7 EV is the first sedan to start up after the ES8, ES6 and EC6 SUVs.  It is slightly longer than the Tesla Model S, offering three lithium-ion battery options (75 kWh, 100 kWh, 150 kWh), and enables a range of 1,000 kilometres (621 miles) on the NEDC cycle.

All ET7 models have dual-motor AWD and a combined output of 644 horsepower and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft), enabling zero to 100 km / h (62 mph) sprint in 3.9 seconds.  In China, the initial price of NIO ET7 before subsidies is 448,000 yuan ($ 71,000)
