Bulk Production Of The Originally UK-Designed 7.5t Electric Truck Has Begun.

The first UK engineered 7.5t electric truck goes into mass production

UK electric truck maker Tevva unveiled the first British-designed 7.5 ton battery electric truck in October 2021, and it is now starting mass production and sales of the truck in the UK and Europe.

Tevva is the first British company to receive European Community full vehicle type approval for its 7.5t electric truck, giving it the green light for sales and volume production.  The Tevva Electric Truck gone through 30 system experiments including electromagnetic compatibility and   electrical safety.

The company’s 7.5t electric truck, ideal for last-mile and urban delivery, offers a range of 140 miles (227 km) from its 105 kWh battery on a single charge.  It can carry 15 Euro-pallets[1] and the battery charge time is up to 90% in five hours.

The Euro-pallet, also called the EPAL-pallet or Euro-pallet, the UIC pallet is the standard European pallet specified by the Working Group and the UIC 435-2 brochure. Pallets that conform to the certification are eligible for the European Pallet Pool (EPP). a system that allows for “pallet for pallet” exchange.

Teva trucks are manufacturing at a factory in London Thames Freeport.  The company has begun delivering the first mass-produced electric trucks to customers including Expect Distribution, Travis Perkins and Royal Mail.  The company expects to sell 1,000 electric trucks by 2023.

The Euro-pallet, also called the EPAL-pallet or Euro-pallet, the UIC pallet is the standard European pallet specified by the Working Group and the UIC 435-2 brochure.   A EUR/EPAL-pallet can weigh up to 1,500 kg (3,300 lb).  (1.5 metric tons) when equally loaded, otherwise the limit is 1,000 kg (2,200 lb).

The United Kingdom has prohibited new internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles from 2030.
