Lectric XP 2.0 Analysis: Medium $ 999 price. Phoenix based Lectric eBike, with several major updates

The Creator at Electric eBikes has released an advanced version of the company’s popular folding fat-tire e-bike, named Lectric XP 2.0.

It offers so much usability and performance at its modest $ 999 price.  And with the step-by-step version of the e-bike, the Phoenix-based Electric eBikes has made popular bikes more accessible than ever before.

The Lectric XP 2.0 is one of the most well-known budget electric bikes of the last few years, compatible with the Lectric XP.

The small sapling stands as a banyan tree.

The team behind the e-bike started as a three-person garage company in 2018 but quickly gained fame, selling more than one million e-bikes for hundreds of millions of dollars.

And that shouldn’t be a surprise.  With many e-bikes costing several thousand dollars while delivering moderate performance, Lectric XP 2.0 allows riders the high speed allowed by law while maintaining a very reasonable $ 999 price tag.

Affordable package, Good deal

The Lectric XP 2.0 comes with a number of updates that make it difficult to keep track of everything.

The new suspension fork offers a hydraulic ride that softens big bumps and smooths out rough lanes.

The new 3 โ€ณ tires provide a more nimble ride while maintaining sufficient air volume for comfortable travel on any terrain.

The heavy-duty rear rack is rated for large cargo loads up to 77 lb (35 kg).  And you know if they rated it, they definitely tested twice as much weight on it.  It is so sturdy that a person can sit there.

The new saddle is a big upgrade in comfort, but the “Comfort Package” available with the spring suspension and new suspension seat post adds to the ride quality with a giant cruiser-style saddle.  Together, they give you an even more suspended ride on the bike from Lectric.

The new handlebars on the bike are now wider and the whole bike is IP65 rated, meaning that the electronics in the bars and everywhere you go can go all season without worrying about anything.

The folding mechanism is now more sturdy and more robust, making for a more rugged bike overall.

The battery took a small capacity hot, dropping from 10.4 Ah to 9.6 Ah.  The battery is installed inside the frame, where it can be replaceable.  Like all internal batteries, they are capacity-limited by how many cells can be filled in the frame tubes.

The company will tell you that the maximum range is 45 miles (72 km), don’t expect to see anywhere near it in fact.  If you’re riding with a pedal assist, you’ll probably hit the mid-30 mile, but the throttle-only ride will make you shorter or closer to the mid-20s.

It’s not a long-range e-bike, but it’s a bummer that you’ll find on Lectric XP 2.0.  After that, it’s all uphill from here, and it’s an electric-assisted uphill!

 The 850W peak-rated motor (“500W nonstop”) is heavy-duty enough to deliver 28 mph (45 km/ h) in pedal help mode 5, although the throttle-incomparable lift tops out at 20 mph (45 km/ h).

The ride itself is super nimble thanks to those tiny 20 โ€ณ diameter wheels.  Because they have less rubber for you to move, they are more easily wrapped than ever before in 3 โ€ณ sizes.

Even though they are not fat 4 โ€ณ tires, they still cover almost any surface you can imagine.  I have tried to ride on grass, asphalt, concrete, gravel, boardwalks, dirt, packed sand and more.  So far, I have yet to find anything they can’t handle.

Accessory packages introduced with Lectric XP 2.0 make the bike even more useful.

The cargo package adds front and rear baskets to carry tons of gear.  They give you a good reason to choose the bike’s step-through version.  Once you have a tall basket in the back and load it with things, stepping from the centre of the bike is a much better way to hop on and off.  The last thing you want is to try to throw your leg over the basket loaded with racks.

To be honest, the standard frame in Lectric XP 2.0 isn’t even that much, so it’s not too hard to step on.  But the actual step-by-step version of the bike is definitely easier to mount and I think it’s our favourite.

It is interesting that step-by-step bikes are considered women’s bikes, but these days they are a common alternative frame choice.  The fact that they are easier and more comfortable to mount is an equally popular choice for men and women of all ages.  Many models of e-bikes only come in step-by-step formats, which further underscores the popularity of the design.

Electric xp 2.0 slowly but surely

The Lectric XP 2.0 is one of my top recommendations in its standard or slowly but surely design, and I recommend it to people as a good first e-bike.  If anyone is curious about joining an e-bike party but doesn’t want to spend a fortune, Lectric XP 2.0 has proven to be a worthy choice.

It offers performance that is compatible with the fastest legal e-bikes out there, and makes for a comfortable, nimble e-bike and folds for convenient car transport.

The quality of bicycle components like shifters and brakes is good but not unbelievable.  Thatโ€™s enough for any casual rider, even if the units donโ€™t impress Lycra enthusiasts who travel hundreds of miles a week on their bikes.
