The Taito is a 3-wheeled electric scooter that runs effortlessly on roads, sidewalks and rubble

A high quality electric scooter built to provide a safe and fun ride experience for every city commuter.

Designed as a more ‘mature’ alternative to last-mile solutions such as hoverboards and scooters, TAITO has a stable 3-wheel design, IP55 waterproof construction, remodelled shock-absorbing platform and 30 km range.  , All packed into a lightweight 16kg (35 lbs) body that makes you want to leave your e-bike to travel around the city.

I personally am responsible for Segway to create the impression scooters and hoverboards that need to be dealt with today.  They are currently viewed as harmless children’s toys or vehicles designed for Silicon Valley lovers to use on their tech mega-campuses.  TAITO is looking to shake that impression with its ‘something can win’ design.  Made to handle more than last-mile travel, TAITO can travel 30 kilometres (18.6 miles) at full charge.Scooter speeds are electronically limited based on your local rules.

Its unique 3-wheel design offers stability and manoeuvrability, but the stand-alone scooter itself is equipped with all the trims you’d expect from an e-bike, front + rear lamps and indicators, a smartphone app that converts your phone.  Dashboard, digital limited maximum speed of 25km / h (can be adapted based on your country’s legislation), GPS and 4G tracking (for anti-theft), reproducible braking, all packed into a 16-kg body with ease so you can ride with TAITO while you’re not riding.

The e-scooter is equipped to ride on roads, sidewalks, gravel and rubble, with a special vibration-absorbing platform that gives you a smoother ride than ever. The scooter is designed and tested in harsh weather conditions.  Although it is not advised to ride in a water body.

The TAITO is designed to be IP55 waterproof with marine-grade stainless steel and aluminium outer body (so you can ride comfortably in the monsoon or wash your scooter clean).  Each TAITO comes with a shock-absorbing bamboo-board programme that you can stand on.

The bamboo board absorbs all vibrations when you ride on cobbled surfaces, so riders do not vibrate even when the e-scooter vibrates.  Furthermore, the patented-pending rubber suspension system and 10-inch wheels help your TAITO overcome rough surfaces.

Unlock the full potential of your Taito with the app.  Mount your phone on the handlebars via the QuadLock integrated system and charge wirelessly as you ride and access a mountain of data along the way.

The e-scooter is equipped with a rear-wheel electric motor that has a maximum power of 1000W, fueled by 48V 10aH Li-ion cells.  At maximum charge, the scooter has a range of 30 kilometres or 18.6 miles (tested with an 80kg / 176lb rider), and the battery takes 3 hours to charge to its full potential.

The battery and every other component can be easily replaced (but not hot).  The scooter’s modular assembly allows for quick repairs. Like any good EV, it comes with an e-lock on theft sensor and motor, as well as GPS and 4G tracking if shipped or stolen.

The handlebars come with indicator lights built into the integrated horn at their ends and also have a TAITO headlight and brake lights, which can be configured using a small button panel on the e-scooter’s dashboard.  Lastly, TAITO’s Dashboard lets you clip on a smartphone for navigation.  TAITO has its own iOS and Android apps that also provide dynamic information such as your speed and battery levels as you ride.

Available in 4 frame colours and 2 bamboo board colours (with customization options), TAITO has a starting-bird price of โ‚ฌ 1,750 (or $ 1957) on its Indiegogo page.  The e-scooter is designed and manufactured in Belgium and will start shipping after August 2022.
