Why We Must Experience Electric Bike Damon HyperFighter Colossus7 At Least Once In Our Lifetime.

  In early January, during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, one of the most influential names we saw on the motorcycle was made public: Hyperfighter Colossus.  Something thought to send tremors down the spine, this name promises incredible performance levels and everything that the competition has to throw it out of the water.

  But does the Hyperfighter Colossus live up to its strong name?  Hard to say, some people have tried one yet, but if we take a closer look at the full specs of the machine it may shed some light on it.

  Hyperfighter is a family of electric motorcycles build in the workshop of a femous Canadian company called Damon Motors.  Some of you may be familiar with the name, because the crew is already on a road called Hypersport.  It is also a family of bikes, starting at $ 17,000 in Premier, HS, SX and SE trims.

  Colossus topped the Hyperfighter line with a range of offers from $ 35,000.  The other two versions are Unlimited 20 and Unlimited 15, but they are not the focus of our coverage today.

  The bike we are about to study is a 57-inch wheelbase, based on the top 17-inch wheels.  It is a monocoque frame type machine “built for a new generation of urban riders” and promises “earth-burning power, fierce design and epic technologies.”

  “Earth’s burning power” comes from something called the Damon Hyperdrive, “the world’s first monocoque-built, 100 percent electric, multi-variant powertrain.”

  It features a battery integrated into the powertrain’s structural frame and an electric motor with a peak output of 150 kW (201 hp) in an effort to reduce and balance weight.  At its best, the system has a maximum range of 200 miles (322 km).

  These are the same numbers that spawned in the Colossus app.  In addition, it can propel the electric motorcycle to a top speed of 170 mph (274 kph), hit 60 mph in 3 seconds, and go up to 146 miles, thanks to a 20 kW battery.  (235 km) in combined cycle.

  It can take up to 15 hours (90 percent from 110V charging) to 45 minutes (DC fast charging from 80 percent) to charge the battery.

  Powertrain is backed by some of the most powerful names in the industry, for example, Ohlins, which supplies the suspension and Brembo breaking hardware.

  In terms of design, wearing such a powerful name makes the bike as aggressive as you might expect.  However, it does not really bring anything extraordinary to the table.

  The interesting part about this is that Damon promises that customers can design their rides with a large number of customizable body kits and graphic packages, but they are rare at the time of writing the details.

  From an automobile technology standpoint, the motorcycle comes with a long list of most advanced features.  Primarily, we call it CoPilot.  It features front and rear wide-angle cameras for a 360-degree viewing angle, which can track up to 64 objects at a time.

  It allows its AI-powered software to behave in a predictable manner, sends alerts to potential collisions via handlebar haptic feedback, and incorporates LED lights into the bike’s windshield and screen.

  Then there is the so-called shift, which allows the rider to change the setup of the motorcycle to support one of two riding positions, Sport or Commute.

  As you can now imagine, the motorcycle is connected, able to support broadcast updates and is supported by a dedicated app.

  As mentioned, HyperFighter Colossus is priced at $ 35,000 and you can already order one yourself by paying a $ 250 reservation fee.  No information yet on delivery time.
