20 new electric cars to be launched in India: Tata to Mercedes-Benz.

Many manufacturers are performing on electric vehicles for the mass market. Some of them have entered the Indian market but most are still working to launch their new electric vehicles.

Many electric car models have additional desirable features such as park assist cameras, high-resolution intelligent displays, touch-screens, 30-minute rapid charging capability, automatic wipers and lights, fun design and eco-friendly components.

Today, we list 20 upcoming electric vehicles to be launched in the Indian market.

Upcoming electric cars in 2022, approximately price

1.Tata Nexon EV Long-range, Price range is Rs.  17 – 18 lakhs.

Tata Motors is functioning on a long- range version of the Nexon EV.  It comes with a 40 kWh battery pack that is currently sold with a 30.2 kWh battery pack.  The long-range version comes with rear disc brakes, electronic stability control and adjustable brake regeneration.

2.Tata Punch EV โ‚น 5.50 – 8.50 Lakhs.

Punch is incredibly successful in the Indian market.  The domestic manufacturer said they were exploring other powertrain options that could be used for the punch.  Such a powertrain could be electric.  Punch is based on the ALFA platform.  This platform supports electrification.  So, in the future, we might see a punch EV.

3.Tata Altroz โ€‹โ€‹EV โ‚น 14.00 Lakhs

Tata Auto Expo 2020 showcased the Altroz โ€‹โ€‹EV.  It looks like a normal Altroz โ€‹โ€‹but there are some changes.  For example, a redesigned cabin to accommodate different bumpers, different alloy wheels and electric vehicle content.  Altroz โ€‹โ€‹is also based on the ALFA platform compatible with electrification.

4.Tata Sierra EV โ‚น 14 Lakhs

Domestic manufacturers are bringing back the traditional “Sierra” nameplate to the Indian market.  However, Now the Sierra will only be offered as an electric vehicle.  Tata Auto Expo 2020 showcased the Sierra EV. The electrical SUV remains within the direct platforms of development and shouldn’t be released before 2025.  It is based on the new Sigma platform, which is being developed especially for electric vehicles.

5.Tata Blackbird EV

“Blackbird”is the codename of the mid-size SUV that Tata Motors is performing on.  This is basically a coupe version of the Nexon.  It is based on the X1 platform.  Interestingly, Tata Motors released the Blackbird as an EV first, followed by the ICE version.

The platform is modified to accommodate the longer wheelbase and larger model.  The wheelbase is expected to be increased to 50mm.  Not only the platform, but the new model shares body styles with the Nexon

6.MG ZS EV Facelift

MG will launch the ZS EV facelift shortly.  It is based on the Astor, which was launched in the Indian market last year.  The ZS EV comes with a large battery pack which helps to increase the driving range.  The interior is going to be like Astor.  MG adds a lot of features that the current ZS EV loses.

7. Hyundai Kona Electric Facelift

Kona became the first electric vehicle to be launched in the Indian market.  However, Hyundai has sold fewer units of Kona Electric compared to rivals.  Hyundai is expected to launch an upgrade later this year due to the electric crossover facelift.

8.Mahindra XUV300 EV

The XUV300 EV is expected to be called the XUV400 because Mahindra wants to differentiate between the EV version and the ICE version.  The test mule was recently spotted and it had a charging port on the left front fender.  This is the low-spec version because it runs on steel wheels.

9.Mahindra eKUV100 โ‚น 8.25 lakhs

Mahindra showcased the eKUV100 at Auto Expo 2020.  This is the most affordable electric vehicle offered by Mahindra.  Testing mules for electric micro-SUVs are already on Indian roads.  Mahindra will be launching the KUV100 EV this year or next.  It targets people who use the vehicle only for daily city travel.

10.HYUNDAI IONIQ 5

Hyundai will be introducing its IONIQ 5 to the Indian market this year.  It is currently going to be a CBU.  IONIQ 5 is based on a new platform specifically made for electric vehicles.  It is offered in two battery packs. An IONIQ 5 is a very futuristic looking vehicle and definitely turns a lot of heads.

11. Hyundai Venue EV Render

Hyundai has announced that they will be bringing the affordable electric vehicle to the Indian market.  It is based on the existing ICE platform. Presently, not much is understood about this new EV. Still, it’s still many times down.

12.MG’s affordable compact SUV

MG has announced that their next vehicle to the Indian market will be an affordable electric crossover.  It is competitively priced as a competitor to the Tata Nexon EV.  He said the cost of the new vehicle was Rs.  15 lakhs.  MG also seeks to increase the level of localization.  The new electric vehicle is expected to be launched in 2023.

14. Maruti Futuro-E โ‚น 15.00 Lakhs,

The Maruti Futuro-E has 5 seats.  Maruti Futuro-E is expected to be launched in India,,,,,,.  Maruti Futuro-E will compete with Tiguan, Carence and Hector.  Prices are expected to start at Rs 15.00 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki and Toyota are concertedly developing an electrical SUV for the Indian request.

15. Hyma Bird Electric EV1, โ‚น 10.00 Lakhs

The Hyama Bird Electric EV1 Seater is a hatchback.  The Hima Bird Electric EV1 is expected to be launched in India ….. The Hima Bird Electric EV1 will rival GO Plus, Altroz โ€‹โ€‹and Venue.  Prices are expected to start at Rs 10.00 lakh.

16. Tata Evision Electric, โ‚น 25.00 lakhs

Evolution.  Based on the new OMEGA architecture of the Tata H5X SUV, EVision is the first sedan to come out of the Impact Design 2.0 family.  The platform has two electric motors and a battery pack on the floor of the car.  This opens up more space in the cabin and improves the car’s dynamics by reducing the centre of gravity.

17.MINI Cooper SE, โ‚น 50.00 lakh

MINI Cooper SE: energy consumption in kWh / 100 km combination: 16,9 – 14,9;  Fuel consumption in l / 100 km combinations: 0, CO2 emissions at g / km Combined: 0. (WLTP) km: 203 – 234. The driving range depends on a variety of factors, in particular: individual driving behaviour, chosen route, weather conditions, heating /  Cooling and Prerequisite Use.

18. Tesla Cybertruck โ‚น 50.70 lakhs

The Tesla Cyber โ€‹โ€‹Truck is expected to be launched in India in December 2023.  The Tesla Cyber โ€‹โ€‹Truck will rival the XF, 3 Series and XC60.

19. BMW i3, โ‚น 1.00 crores

The BMW i3 is a 5 seat SUV.  BMW i3 is expected to be launched in India …. BMW i3 will compete with Defender, X3 M and Discovery.  Prices are expected to start from 1.00 Cr.

20. Mercedes-Benz EQS, โ‚น 1.75 crore

Mercedes-Benz EQS is a 5 seater sedan.  Mercedes-Benz EQS is expected to be introduced in India in October 2022.
