Google’s US-based employees reimburse the full cost of a monthly subscription to Unagi’s elegant Model One scooter.

With the Coronavirus epidemic, most large companies end up working from home.  The same is true of most tech companies, including Google.  The tech company, led by Sundar Pichai, has been asking employees to leave the comfort of home and come into the office this week.  Google is offering free electric scooters to motivate employees to return to office.  The tech giant always offers free shuttle bus service to its employees in Silicon Valley.

Google has partnered with e-scooter maker Unagi to launch the new “Ride Scoot” program.  The program allows most US-based employees of Google to reimburse the full cost of Unagi’s stylish Model One scooter monthly subscription, which costs approximately $ 75,000 for $ 990.

Unagi founder and CEO David Hyman said the idea behind the Ride Scoot program is to help Google employees get back to work or travel to the office without any hassle, at least close to the bus stop.  The program is set for Google employees at Mountain View headquarters and other US-based locations such as Seattle, Kirkland, Irvine, Sunnyvale, Playa Vista, Austin and New York City.

Although a spokesperson for Google has yet to make an official statement about it, Hyman said, “They know there is anxiety in the workforce.”  โ€œPeople are really accustomed to working from home.

In addition, Unagi has partnered with other large companies such as Salesforce for the same event.  It works with several hotels and residences to keep Unagi’s scooters in the lobby for customers.

In addition to offering free scooters to employees, Unagi plans to set up booths at various Google offices with the goal of signing up employees for a monthly scooter subscription at a discounted cost of $ 44.10 + $ 50 per month.  Google refunds the total money.

To encourage employees to come to the office, Google has asked employees to use the scooter for at least nine trips per month to fully refund their monthly subscription.

It is said that both Google and Unagi will host demo days for employees to try out Model One at their office locations.

About Unagi scooter

The Unagi scooter is no secret.  Its excellence is due to advanced materials, high-end technology and thousands of engineering hours.  The result is a zero-emission scooter that travels farther in charge, handles hills more easily, and smooths over rough road surfaces.  Every inch of the Unagi is designed with durability, structural integrity and minimal beauty.  It’s not a transportation experience.

Handlebar / Command Centre

The magnesium alloy handlebar is an achievement of structural engineering and requires more than thirty prototypes to be perfect.  In the top bar are the dashboard’s intuitive controls โ€” the throttle, brake, horn and LED headlight are combined.  There are no visible wires.  There is no massive console.  The only smooth, integrated command centre that connects the rider to the ride.  Why Magnesium?  It’s 33% lighter than aluminium, which partially explains why the Unagi is the most portable scooter on the market.

Superior Motor

You have two options: The E250 features a robust 250-watt motor fitted to the front wheel and is ideal for riders with a unique ride on flat, urban terrain.  The E450 has 450 watts and more torque than 28 Newton metres so you can easily handle the hills with a 15-degree slope.  Our motors are completely custom-made, using rare-earth neodymium magnets and a monitoring system to ensure they never overheat.  They are industrially optimised for efficiency, responsiveness and longevity.

Breaking reliable

The most important thing is to break,

A soft push on the ergonomically optimised lever and dual electronic anti-lock brakes will bring you to a safe, stable stop.  We have built up variations in controls on both our throttle and brakes, so pushing them up improves their performance.  The controls on every scooter we tested were binary in their action โ€” everything on or off โ€”

The first “one click” folding scooter

By pressing a button, the Unagi stainless steel hinge system folds and locks in a smooth, satisfying click.  This engineering advancement makes it easier for all age groups to fold and carry than any other scooter on the market.

High density LG battery

Unagi is powered by the highest quality electric batteries in existence.  Coupled with a custom designed maintenance system, it provides the highest power density and low charging time of any battery size.  As with all Unagi scooters, longevity and reliability are the primary targets.  Batteries are durable and easily renewable for many years with continuous daily use.  You can change it yourself or return your old one to the company and get a new battery.

Safe lighting

The flush-mounted 47 Lumen LED front light is a guide at night and you can always find the red LED flashing at the rear in low-visibility night conditions.

Carbon fibre tubes

Unagi controls TORAY carbon fibre from Japan to strike an unprecedented balance of lighter and heavier energy.  The composite is anisotropic, a technical term that is laid out by hand in a strenuous process that optimises energy by distributing fibre layers where needed.  Unagi said your scooter uses carbon fibre similar to Elon Musk’s Space-X rockets

Soft, sturdy silicone deck

By combining a single piece of machined aluminium with embedded silicon on the upper surface for traction, the scooter deck achieves an ideal combination of rigidity and comfort.  But what is missing from this equation?  Standard metallic finish with seams, joints, stitches, bulk, scratchy sandpaper grips and other scooters.

Automotive quality paint job

Run your hands over Unagi and you will immediately notice the perfect finish.  Unagi offers a luxurious vehicle with three separate coats of laminate and high corrosion resistant paint to handle road erosion and tear.  And most importantly, our scooters never rust.  And high-tech paint comes in three vivid, elegant colours.  So what is the colour of personal liberty?  You decide.

Never flat tire technology

Flat tires?  Please.  Our solid rubber 7.5 “wheels are puncture-proof and will never fail your morning commute. Our design team has broken new ground on these tires.  That said, it still allows for responsive balance and feel on the road.

3-speed control

Select your speed – beginner, intermediate, or advanced.  The scooter’s processor controls high speed and acceleration and keeps your speed preferences in mind so you don’t have to.

Kick As Kickstand

Unagi’s kickstand is a perfect example of the ruthless obsession with details.  Unlike all other scooters on the market โ€” whose generic kickstands come from third-party vendors โ€” Unagi’s kickstand is designed to seamlessly integrate with the deck from the ground up.  It is very sturdy and simple and practically invisible when you ride.

E250: 250 watts.  Flat terrain, ideal for unique urban landscapes.

E450: 450 watts.  Extra torque to handle 15 degree hills.

There is no perfect solution to crime.  But you can rest easy knowing that the Unagi lockup is as secure as any bicycle with a U-Lock.  Specifically, one with at least 10cm x 15cm internal space.  A talented criminal can get any lock on an empty street with plenty of time, but a good U-lock is definitely safe for an afternoon trip to a coffee shop or grocery store.  Well, Unagi is so lightweight and portable that we usually fold it and bring it with us.
