India Bike Week 2023 witnessed the grand unveiling of the highly anticipated 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, setting the stage for an imminent launch in the Indian market. The latest iteration of this iconic middleweight supersport motorcycle boasts a series of enhancements, promising enthusiasts a thrilling and advanced riding experience.
Displayed for the first time at EICMA 2023 in Milan, Italy, the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R introduces a refreshed design, notably evident in its redesigned front end. The motorcycle features new headlamps with strategically placed winglets underneath, contributing to an improved aerodynamic profile that enhances both form and function.
Underneath the striking exterior, the heart of the 2024 Ninja ZX-6R beats with a robust 636cc, in-line four-cylinder engine. This powerhouse generates an impressive 129bhp at 13,000rpm and 69Nm of peak torque at 10,800rpm. To meet the latest emission norms, the engine has undergone updates while maintaining its formidable performance. Paired with a six-speed gearbox, the powertrain incorporates a bi-directional quickshifter, ensuring seamless and responsive gear changes for riders.
The 2024 Ninja ZX-6R is not only about sheer power but also about intelligent technology. The motorcycle comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of rider aids, including traction control, ride modes, ABS, and various safety features. Adding to the tech-savvy experience, the 4.3-inch colour TFT display can connect seamlessly to the rider’s app through the Kawasaki Rideology app, providing real-time information and enhancing the overall riding experience.
The suspension system of the 2024 Ninja ZX-6R is finely tuned with Showa Separate Function forks (SFF-BP) at the front (120mm travel) and a gas-charged monoshock at the rear (150mm travel). Both offer rebound and compression damping, along with preload adjustability, ensuring a dynamic and controlled ride. The motorcycle retains its durable aluminium perimeter frame, contributing to its stability and precision on the road.
When it comes to braking, the 2024 Ninja ZX-6R doesn’t compromise. Dual 310mm front discs and a single 220mm rear disc provide ample stopping power, with radial-mounted, monobloc, opposed 4-piston callipers at the front and a single-piston calliper at the rear. The 17-inch wheels, coupled with 120/70 front and 180/55 rear tires, facilitate optimal traction, allowing riders to harness the motorcycle’s potent power efficiently.
Making its debut on the Indian stage at India Bike Week, the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is expected to hit showrooms in early 2024. Anticipation surrounds its arrival, with the motorcycle projected to be priced around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). As enthusiasts eagerly await its official launch, the 2024 Ninja ZX-6R stands as a testament to Kawasaki’s commitment to pushing boundaries and delivering cutting-edge performance in the world of supersport motorcycles.
