Mahindra Electric Mobility Limited has announced the launch of its new three-wheeler, the e-Alfa Cargo, an electric vehicle manufacturing subsidiary of the Indian automaker-Mahindra Group. This battery powered cargo vehicle is priced at Rs 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom).

The release of e-Alpha Cargo marks Mahindra’s entry into the fast-growing e-cart segment. Mahindra claims that owners of e-Alpha Cargo can save up to Rs 60,000.00 on fuel costs each year compared to the diesel cargo 3-wheeler. Domestic automakers are already retailing the Treo Zor in the last mile segment.
Mahindra Electric Three Wheeler – E Alpha Cargo Details
Mahindra says e-Alpha Cargo aims to provide a sustainable and pollution-free solution in the cargo segment. The E Alpha Cargo is powered by an electric motor with a maximum power output of 1.5 kW when using the extra high torque gear.
It features a dual-speed manual transmission with integrated differential that ensures a top-notch efficiency of 7 degrees. This powertrain returns a range of 80 km on a single charge and a maximum speed of only 25 km. Mahindra is offering an off-board 48 V / 15 A charger, which makes it easy to charge a mobile phone with charging alpha cargo.

The E Alpha Cargo has the lowest driving cost, only 59 paise per kilometer (considering the electric charge per 8 / unit). This will ensure more profitability for the owner.
In terms of features, Alpha comes with a fully digital instrument cluster that displays charge status (SoC), range, speed, and other useful and important read-outs. It also gets a larger and wider cargo tray with a payload of 310 kg to meet the demands of this segment. The E Alpha comes with a 1 year / unlimited-kilometer warranty.
