The Okinawa Oki90 Electric Scooter is expected to be launched in India in the first quarter of 2022.

The modern Indian needs a speed-matching machine that makes every ride comfortable and enjoyable and allows him to do his job for the environment.  So, every day in Okinawa is spent finding new ways to build a marking machine.  This is because quality discovery increases happiness, reduces effort, and reduces emissions.

Gurugram-based Okinawa, an electric vehicle manufacturer, is preparing to launch its new Oki90 electric scooter in India.  In India, the scooter is predicted to be introduced in the first quarter of 2022.  The Oki90 e-scooter from Okinawa takes on the fight against rivals Ola S1 and Simple One.

Now, HT has spotted a new electric scooter between auto road tests and it will be the same model from Okinawa.

The prototype, as evidenced by spy photographs, seems to be in the final stages of development, and most body plates are aesthetically ready.  This makes it a direct competitor to Ola Electric S1 and Simple Energy One.

If the exterior is cleverly folded behind the concealed foil, factors such as the tall and expanded seats, the massive chunky alloy wheels, the silver-finished rear grab rail, and the dual spring suspension on the rear are obvious.

Larger alloy wheels will definitely improve the overall riding dynamics of the scooter.  The wheels are about 14 inches wide, which is larger than other electric scooter wheel sizes available in India.

As mentioned earlier, the scooter comes with a removable lithium-ion battery and a fast charger.  Also, the pictures suggest that the Oki90 lacks a hub-mounted motor, preferring a centrally mounted unit instead.

In terms of battery and motor specifications, numbers are expected to be close to the range of other premium models from Okinawa at speeds of about 80 kmph and a complete charge span of 150 km to 180 km.

Expect the scooter to include some connected features, such as geo-fencing, navigation and diagnostics.

Expect the final price rollout of the scooter to take place by April this year.  It can range from ₹ 1 lakh to ₹ 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom).
